Dr. Anna Strano is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Technische Universität Dresden. She earned her joint PhD from Technische Universität Dresden and King’s College London, where she defended her thesis titled “Loss-of-function of leptin receptor impairs metabolism in human cardiomyocytes.”
Her core expertise lies in molecular and cellular biology, with a focus on developing disease models and cultivating human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Dr. Strano specializes in differentiating iPSCs into iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, which she uses to explore mechanisms underlying cardio-metabolic disorders and to identify potential therapeutic targets.
Her research combines advanced stem cell technologies with disease modeling to tackle challenges in understanding and treating metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
